Leonie's philosophy is 'learning some Mandarin is a key to understanding Chinese culture'. After several years of living and working in China and Taiwan, Leonie has a deep understanding of Mandarin and Chinese culture and therefore understands how Chinese people think.

Leonie is a panel member to decide entrepreneurial scholarship winners for the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre within the University of Adelaide. She is also a business mentor for 'Entrepreneurial Business Systems Program', conducted through the University of Adelaide and AusIndustry.

In 2005 Leonie was awarded the 'Entrepreneur of the Year Award' by the Hong Kong Australia Business Association-South Australia Chapter.
